About

John Haney, the Managing Partner, is a native North Carolinian. He is a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill and obtained his Masters in Accounting from East Carolina University.

Throughout his career, John has worked in a broad range of public accounting and industry finance positions in the Raleigh and Atlanta markets. He first entered public accounting with Ernst & Young LLP in Atlanta and then continued as a tax manager with one of Atlanta’s largest local firms. Upon returning home to North Carolina in 2007, John worked as a senior tax manager with a local Raleigh firm and was a partner in two other local CPA firms before starting John A. Haney, CPA, PLLC in November 2021.

John excels in providing accounting and tax support for small to medium-sized businesses as well as a full range of tax return planning and preparation services for individuals.

He is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. During his down time, he enjoys spending time with his family, is an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, and is a part of the Leesville Road High School Bands Club and Pit Crew.

John holds CPA license #24421 in the great state of North Carolina.
